While Muskrat are indigenous to North America, they have been introduced in countries all over Europe and Asia.  They are a mid-sized rodent that spends much of its life in the water.  They provide an important food source for many predators and their dens actually cause grass to push through the ice and snow of the water providing winter meals for Caribou and Elk.  This animal is very important to the fur industry both due its population and incredibly warm fur.  Some Native Americans believe that winter snowfall levels can be predicted based on the size and timing of muskrat lodge construction.  This skull will add uniqueness and authenticity to your arts and crafts products, creating a natural and earthy feel along with reverent warmth that cannot be reproduced through synthetic replicas.  It is normal for the jaws and teeth to separate from the skull during the cleaning process; they are then reattached with hot glue.  These skulls are of collectible quality at a very competitive price.
