Clear Creek Trading Company

A modern trading post, built the old way.

Founded more than thirty years ago as a one-person, on-the-road venture, Clear Creek Trading Company grew the way real businesses used to grow—mile by mile, handshake by handshake. It was shaped at flea markets, craft shows, trading blankets, and long conversations with makers who knew where their materials came from and why that mattered. No shortcuts. No hype. Just trade, trust, and time.

Over the years, those relationships deepened. Selective acquisitions followed. What began as a rolling trading post eventually put down roots in Uptown Sedona, Arizona—becoming a cornerstone shop and a trusted source for exclusive, hard-to-find goods you won’t stumble across by accident.

Our foundation is older than retail. It’s rooted in the tradition of traders and Native artisans, hunters and trappers—people who understood that objects carry story, labor, and lineage. In those worlds, nothing was disposable. Materials were respected. Craft was survival. Trade was relationship, not transaction.

That philosophy still guides everything we do.

We curate ethically sourced natural history pieces, handcrafted goods, leathercraft and beadwork materials, and one-of-a-kind artifacts meant to be used, worn, studied, or passed down. Many of the items we carry echo the practices of Indigenous makers, frontier traders, and backcountry craftsmen—where skill mattered more than branding, and durability was the measure of beauty.

These are pieces for makers, collectors, artists, and modern-day wanderers—people who value things built by hands instead of factories, and who understand that patina isn’t damage, it’s evidence of a life well lived.

This isn’t mass-market décor.
This isn’t trend chasing.

This is material with memory.
This is trade with intention.

Built on relationships.
Driven by craft.
Rooted in tradition.
Made to last.
