Clear Creek Trading Company
A modern trading post, built the old way.
What We Stand For
Deep Roots
The trading relationships behind Clear Creek go back more than thirty years — built one handshake at a time, long before we put down permanent roots in Sedona in 2002. That history runs through everything we carry.
A Real Trading Post
We still trade the old way — purchasing and trading directly with Native artists and makers for the work they create. These are real relationships with real people, not a supply chain. The work is theirs; we help it find the right hands.
Creators Belong Here
Whether you make things, collect things, or are just learning to — this is your place. We carry the materials, run the workshops, and keep the door open for anyone who wants to learn a craft and leave with something they made themselves.

We still trade the old way. Clear Creek works directly with Native artists and makers — purchasing and trading for handcrafted work they create. The people behind the pieces are not anonymous suppliers. They are artists and craftspeople with whom we have ongoing relationships, and that connection is part of what you hold when you carry something out of this store.
That same respect for the people who make things shapes everything else we do. It’s why we run workshops, stock serious materials, and keep the door open to anyone who wants to learn a craft. Whether you’re a collector, a seasoned maker, or someone picking up a brush or a beading needle for the first time — you’re in the right place.
Our Story
Clear Creek Trading Company opened its doors in Uptown Sedona in 2002 — but the trading relationships behind it had been built over more than thirty years on the road before that. It started as a one-person venture, shaped at swap meets, trade shows, and flea markets, through long conversations with makers who knew where their materials came from and why that mattered. Mile by mile, handshake by handshake. No shortcuts. No hype. Just trade, trust, and time.
Over the years, those relationships deepened. Selective acquisitions followed. What began as a rolling trading post eventually put down roots in Uptown Sedona, Arizona—becoming a cornerstone shop and a trusted source for exclusive, hard-to-find goods you won’t stumble across by accident.
Our foundation is older than retail. It’s rooted in the tradition of traders and Native artisans, hunters and trappers—people who understood that objects carry story, labor, and lineage. In those worlds, nothing was disposable. Materials were respected. Craft was survival. Trade was relationship, not transaction. That philosophy still guides everything we do.
We curate ethically sourced natural history pieces, handcrafted goods, leathercraft and beadwork materials, and one-of-a-kind artifacts meant to be used, worn, studied, or passed down. Many of the items we carry echo the practices of Indigenous makers, frontier traders, and backcountry craftsmen—where skill mattered more than branding, and durability was the measure of beauty.
These are pieces for makers, collectors, artists, and modern-day wanderers—people who value things built to last.
