These handmade bone or horn hair pipe beads are perfect for making bracelets, chokers, necklaces and breastplates in the Native American style or adding as accents to your leathercraft project. To the best of our knowledge, the black-colored and white-colored hair pipe are made from bone and the red-colored and yellow-colored hair pipe are made from horn, with all hair pipe being sourced from the Water Buffalo in India, not the North American Bison as some might lead you to believe. Since this is a handmade natural item, and not a mass-produced machine-made plastic product, each hair pipe bead is unique, and you should expect to have slight variations in each hair pipe’s length, width, weight, color, shape and location of the center hole, and with some possible imperfections – just like if you made them yourself out in the wilderness. Hair pipe is traditionally widest in the middle and tapers to be narrowest at the ends. In general, hair pipe made from bone will be heavier in weight than hair pipe made from horn. Yellow-colored hair pipe will actually appear to be dark amber in color rather than the more familiar bright yellow color.

This real bone/horn hair pipe is 4 inches long and is available in black, red, white and yellow colors. The drilled center hole is approximately 3 millimeters in diameter.
