Hand Woven Navajo Water Jug (Red over Black) by Rose Lyn Bates

There is only 1 item left in stock.

Recreation of a traditional hand woven Navajo water jug with black diamonds design by Rose Lyn Bates.

Like their hand woven baskets, Navajo water jugs are usually made of three-leaf sumac, though sometimes yucca or willow are substituted but not preferred.  They are dipped in pinion pine pitch to seal them and have horsehair handles.  These jugs are intended for decorative use.
